Aaron Alexis: didn't like boss and was disgruntled, friends said
A former reservist who shot dead 12 people at US Navy headquarters before being killed in a shoot-out with police appears to have had a grudge against his former employers.
Friends and acquaintances of Aaron Alexis expressed shock at how the 34-year-old, a convert to Buddhism who had spoken about becoming a monk, could be behind America’s latest mass shooting.
They said he had often complained at his treatment by the Navy after serving as a reservist from 2007 to 2011. One said that he thought he had never earned a promotion “because of the colour of his skin”.
