Stella Oduah’s armoured cars will buy 51 police patrol vehicles' -Gov Fashola

During the 7th annual Town Hall Meeting on Security held in Lagos, Governor Fashola said the two BMW cars bought for Stella Oduah will purchase 51 patrol vehicles for the Nigerian Police.

“It is sad to know that the Federal Government that allocate three patrol vehicles for one state police command of 370, 000 police men, is unable to resolve how N255 million was used to purchase 2 saloon vehicles for one officer. It is a very grave irony. The cost of average vehicle needed to patrol the state is just N5 million. And with such fund, we will have put at least 51 patrol vehicles on the road, patrolling the streets of Lagos.”
"In spite of all this, they resist the idea of a state police. The money from the fund was in the last one year used to provide vehicles for the Nigerian Prison Service, National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, National Security and Civil Defense Corps, NSCDC and indeed the airport wing of the Nigerian police, is funded from this money. And it is the same aviation ministry that manage the airport that we had this very odious car scandal of N255 million.” (PM News)

Governor Adams Oshiomhole apologizes over comments to a widow

Gov. Adams Oshiomhole of Edo today Friday November 29th apologized for the comments he made to a widow in Benin during an inspection tour on Mission Road, in the state capital, a fortnight ago.

Oshiomhole said that he now regretted the comments which had become the subject of discourse in the social media. The Governor said that he made the comments in anger.

The governor’s apology was made when the leadership of the Federation of Muslim Women’s Association of Nigeria (FOMWAN), paid him a courtesy visit in Benin. Continue...

He noted that though the challenge of modern times had bestowed on the shoulders of some women and single mothers the status of bread winners of their homes, such should not be used as an accuse to flout the laws.

The Governor urged the Muslim women leaders to use their offices to propagate the essence of healthy living among children and women in the nation and the need to maintain proper sanitary conditions in their neighbourhoods.

Oshiomhole lamented that the challenge of widowhood had also exposed children to different temptations, adding that there was the need for society to be careful, to avoid unwittingly creating more problems for the nation.

He noted that money was not the best thing that guaranteed ones happiness, “but honesty and selfless service.

The Governor added that if Muslims and Christians were adequately committed to their religious doctrines, the world would be a better place.

He urged the women to propagate the message of Islam through the nooks and crannies of the nation, and to also inculcate the values of honesty in their followers.

Oshiomhole, however, assured the association of government’s support in ensuring that its present leadership made remarkable progress and also consolidated on the successes of their predecessors.

Earlier, the FOMWAN National President, Hajia Amina Omoti, urged the state government to look into the issue of the teaching of Islamic Religious Studies in public schools in the state.

Omoti also solicited for government’s moral and financial support for the effective running of the association.

SHOCK OF LIFE: Ex-footballer Discovers 3 Children With Wife Of 20-Years Are Not His

After over 20 years of marriage, former Ghana International footballer, Nii Ordartey Lamptey, has just shockingly discovered that all 3 children he has fathered all these years with his wife are not his biological children.

The footballer made this shocking revelation during an interview on radio when he was asked why he and his wife were getting divorced.
“I thought they were my children but upon a DNA test, I got to know that they are not my biological children. The issue is in court so I’m pleading, because it is a legal issue I don’t want to go through so many things, but I am 100% sure that the children are not mine after 20-years of marriage. We had five children but two passed away so we were left with only 3 and they are not mine,“ Odartey said.
According to report, his wife known as Gloria Lamptey (pictured below) is claiming her husband, Odartey is infertile and he was the one who suggested they use artificial insemination. A claim Lamptey denies

David Beckham Adding Hotelier To His Resume

david beckham hotel

The mega star, athlete, model, husband, father and all around hunk David Beckham may have retired at the ripe old age of 38, but he certainly isn't ready to start playing mahjong with the neighbors.
The British superstar is teaming up luxury resort company Las Vegas Sands and entering the tourism industry. You may (or may not) know this brand to be the company behind The Palazzo and The Venetian in Las Vegas, but if you're looking to rest your head on a pillow that is kinda, sorta owned by Becks himself, you'll have to travel much further east.
Beckham and the resort chain are going to be focusing their attention on the Macau version of The Venetian and Singapore's Marina Bay Sands hotel. Looking to grow the high profile Asian brands, which have billions of dollars invested in them, president of Las Vegas Sands Michael Leven, said "The odds are extremely high that a partnership with David Beckham will help us further those efforts and provide David with the same benefit."
The Marina Bay Sands is one of the world's most impressive hotels, and one of Singapore's biggest tourist attractions. The rooftop hotel pool, or the SkyPark as it is affectionately referred to, is a must-see for most visiting the city, but the resort itself offers an endless number of amenities that make it "Asia's leading destination for business, leisure and entertainment."
The Venetian Macau is not only a stunning property with plenty of places to bet it all on black, it is also quickly becoming a destination known for its sporting events. Just this week played host to a welterweight fight where, not-so-coincidentally Beckham attended to cheer on fighter Manny

Beyonce Reportedly Booted From Egyptian Pyramids For Being 'Rude'

beyonce kicked out pyramids
It's hard to believe Beyonce would be kicked out of anything or anywhere, but that's reportedly what happened when an infamous archaeologist booted her from the Egyptian pyramids.
Beyonce travelled to Egypt back in 2009 during her I Am... Tour. Shortly after the superstar stopped by the pyramids, she was bashed by Dr. Zahi Hawass, otherwise known as "Egypt's Indiana Jones." The Egyptologist allegedly referred to the "Love On Top" singer as a "stupid person" who "doesn't understand a thing" and only went there to take photos, BET reported at the time, via local newspapers.
Hawass also cut short her tour of the iconic Egyptian site, according to a new interview.
"Most people I take on tours are very nice and we become friends. But this lady...," Hawass recently told the Independent of Beyonce's visit to the pyramids. "She said she would come at 3 p.m. but she came late. I said 'You have to say I'm sorry I'm late.' But she didn't open her mouth."
"I brought a photographer and she also had a photographer and a guard," he added. "When my photographer started to shoot, he said 'No, Stop! I am the one who says yes or no, not you.' I said, 'In that case since you almost hit my photographer and you are not polite - out! I am not giving you the privilege of having you on my tour.' I said Beyonce was stupid and I left."
Hawass, who was once the Egyptian antiquities minister, is a controversial figure.
Although he has been commended for boosting interest in archaeology in the region, his credibility has come into question, and he has been criticized for his love of publicity. In 2011, he was fired because of his relationship with ousted President Hosni Mubarak's regime, The Associated Press reported.
He came under investigation for various indiscretions -- corruption, wasting public funding and shipping Egyptian antiquities overseas without permission, opening them up to theft -- according to the Smithsonian magazine. He was also banned from traveling outside of the country.

PHOTOS: Mysterious River With Healing Powers Appears In Enugu Community

A river with healing powers mysteriously appeared in Nachi, a community in Udi Local Government Area of Enugu State.
Capture
Already named ‘Orimiri Jordan’ (River Jordan) it has become a Pilgrimage Centre, playing host to people from all parts of Nigeria.
Countless testimonies abound as Nigerians struggle to dip themselves into the River.
According to reports, it all started on the 11th day of November 2013 when a Fulani herdsman ran to the community and announced how water covered the place just few minutes after he passed.
“He told us that he passed that place with his herd of cattle and soon after, heard a strange noise; when he turned back, he discovered that a big stream has appeared at the same place he just passed with his cattle. At that point, he ran to Garki and informed his relatives, who also came there and discovered that the water had healing power. From that point, the news spread to the community”, a source disclosed.
Speaking on the origin of the river, the traditional ruler of Nachi community, His Royal Highness, Igwe F.O Onuigbo, Obi II of Nachi, said that at his palace that the mystery River was older than him.
He said “I used to pass through that area to attend school at Inyi-Achi in Oji River, in the early 40s. In those days, there is no water there, the only thing you see there is white sand. But once you get there and you are thirsty, all you need to do is to scratch the surface of the land and ask if for water, water will full your hand immediately if you are an upright person, but if you are evil, no water will come out. That has been the situation”.
Another octogenarian, Chief Festus Ude said “later, we noticed that after some years, the water will form a stream there and would disappear in few weeks. If such happens, we will be fetching water there. However, women who are menstruating and evil people don’t go there. We never heard about healing power of the River until this recent appearance of the River.
“The last time it appeared was in 1992, and at that time, it just formed a small stream, which later disappeared. It has never been as large as this. This is all I know, we have never known about its healing power, this is the first time we are hearing about healing, I don’t whether it is true, we equally heard it like you”.

Commercial motorcycle operators, popularly called “Okada”, photographers and petty traders, are already making business out of it.
Right at the junction leading to the location of the “Jordan River”, the visitor is presented with a scene of a busy motor park, where hawkers, food vendors, transporters and okada riders battle for customers.
On the other side of the road, cans of various sizes are displayed for those who came empty handed. From that point, you park your vehicle, mount on Okada and the journey begins.
According to motorcyclist, “I have a vulcanizing shop at the Nachi Market, but when this new business came, I had to close the shop temporarily so that I can also make money here. I hardly make N1000 a day there in my shop, but since I joined this Okada transport to the Enugu Jordan River, I make no less than N10, 000 every day. One of my friends called my attention to it, and I will forever be grateful to him”.
The okada operators charge their passengers fares ranging from N500 to N1000 depending on their bargaining power.
On getting to the River, another business scene welcomes you. Here, apart from those hawking snacks, photographers are not left out. This presents the place as not just a miracle centre, but a tourist centre. While some of the visitors dip themselves or swim in the River, the photographers take shots, get the pictures ready immediately at the cost of N200 depending on the number of exposures.
One of the photographers said that they make between N20, 000 to N40, 000 every day.
“You can see that some people come for fun, not just in search of miracle but to see the mysterious River. So when such people come, they request for shots and it has really provided us with good business here.
Sources disclosed that many visitors had testified to all forms of miracles after visiting the place.
People of all ages, with all forms of ailments are being assisted by their relatives and friends to dip themselves into the River.
A can seller at the entrance said “my house help was suffering from enlarged scrotum; we were trying to raise money to go to University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital before a friend told me about this place. We brought the boy here and by the time we went home, he was fully healed, that was how I started selling empty cans here”.
Another visitor, a civil servant, who identified himself as James told our correspondent that he came after neighbours told him about the healing power of the water.
“I heard about people who had difficulties in walking but they got healed after visiting this place; I also heard of people who regained their sight after visiting this place; I am just coming out from the River and I believed that I am free of any form of sickness and challenges”.
Meanwhile, the crowd of anxious Nigerians seeking for miraculous solutions to their problems has continued to surge into the River.
Even security agents are not left behind as some of them were seen either with their water cans or aiding their loved ones into the River.
However, the water is expected to also dry up any time in the same mysterious way as it came.

Taylor Swift, Prince William, and Bon Jovi Sing Livin' on a Prayer — See Video and GIFs!

Taylor Swift looked like a true princess in a Reem Acra gown on Tuesday when she attended the Winter Whites Gala at Kensington Palace in London, but she wasn't the only star at the bash. Jon Bon Jovi and his entire family also stopped by the black-tie party, where Jon was honored with a special award by the night's host, Prince William. Taylor got a chance to catch up with William, and she told reporters on hand that he was "really funny" and "so cool."
Unfortunately for the stars, Kate Middleton was not in attendance at the gala, despite previous reports that she would make an appearance. However, the lack of the Duchess of Cambridge didn't stifle Taylor's enthusiasm as she chatted with Jon Bon Jovi and mingled with the society crowd while carrying a clutch from one of Kate's favorite designers, Jenny Packham.
Earlier this month, Taylor said she was excited to attend the gala, adding that she had been brushing up on her etiquette. She said, "I think I'm just really safe if I just shake hands and be polite. I think that's being presumptuous in assuming I'll meet them, so first I'm going to be polite enough to not assume I'll meet them." She and Bon Jovi also performed during the event and got a special treat when William joined both of the artists on stage to sing "Livin' on a Prayer."
