10 Things You Can Do With Coca-Cola You Probably Didn’t Know

Coca-Cola has been around for over 100 years, since 1886. It was first used as medicine and was claimed to cure many ailments, including impotence. Through the years, Coca-Cola has become the most popular soft drink in the world, but, did you know it has other uses besides refreshing us on a hot day?

1) Defrosting A Windshield

Coke poured on a windshield
Tired of scraping off that pesky ice from your windshield during winter? Simply pour a can of Regular Coke over it and wait. You’ll be amazed!

2) Jellyfish Sting

Have you ever heard that the only way to soothe a jellyfish sting is to pee on it? This is not only gross, but untrue. Instead, pour some Coca-Cola over the sting. The relief will be almost instantaneous.

3) Window Cleaner

Coca-Cola contains citric acid, which makes it the perfect glass and window cleaner. No more harsh chemicals, just pour Coke over your windows and wipe them down with a moistened cloth.

4) Car Battery Terminals

Car Battery
The crud that accumulates around the terminals of your car battery can be removed by pouring Coke over them, letting it sit for a few minutes, and then hosing off the residue. For extra hard spots, simply use a sponge to rub off the gunk.

5) Pesticide

Bug crawling on ground.
If you find your garden overrun by slugs and other bugs during the Spring and Summer months, pour some Coke into small containers and set them out in your yard. The sugar will attract the bugs and the acid in the Coke will kill them. This works on roaches too.

6) Skunk Smell

Two Skunks spraying
Once in a while you may find that you, or your pet, came too close to a skunk and got sprayed. Using tomato juice might be effective but it’s messy and hard to clean. Instead, pour Coke all over yourself or your pet while in the shower, make sure to use a lot, so all areas are covered. Wait for a few minutes and then rinse off. You will smell fresh and clean once you’re done, and so will your pet.

7) Cleaning Toilets

Toilet with seat open
To remove those ugly stains, simply pour Regular Coke into your toilet bowl over the dirty areas and wait for 10 minutes. The acid in the Coke will break up even the most difficult stains.

8) Fish Smell

Pile of clothes on bed
The boys went fishing and now their clothing smells so bad you want to throw it out? Salvage stinky clothing by pouring some Coke on your laundry during the wash cycle.

9) Hair Curling

Coca-Cola Helps Curl Hair
For perfect curls, even if your hair is straight, leave an open can of Coke out overnight. Then pour it over your long hair and let it sit for a few minutes. Rinse thoroughly.

10) Soothe Your Dog’s Paws

Dog Paw lifted in air
When your pet’s paw pads become worn, they can cause your dog a lot of pain. When you notice them getting worn and shiny, soak your pet’s paws in glass bottle Coca-Cola for about 20 minutes. This will help soothe and heal your pet’s tired feet.

Road to divorce: Khloe and Lamar Odom secretly selling their home

According to a report by TMZ, Khloe Karsahian and her estranged husband, Lamar Odom, have secretly put their home up for sale
Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom are packing it in -- we've learned they are secretly selling their Tarzana mansion. Real estate sources tell TMZ ... Khloe has given several San Fernando Valley realtors a pocket listing -- meaning the house will not appear in the multiple listing service.  It's being done on the down low.  Any prospective buyer must pre-qualify before seeing the house, meaning they must have the dough to buy the crib.
We're told Khloe and Lamar want a cool $4 mil for the house.  They paid $3.95 million in 2009. Our sources say Khloe is the driving force behind the sale, telling realtors she wants to "start fresh and move on."
Title to the house is held in both Khloe and Lamar's names. Khloe intends to divorce Lamar, but no documents have been prepared or filed because she knows he's in a fragile state and doesn't want to push him over the edge.

6 Common Cancer Symptoms You Shouldn’t Ignore

chest

Know your body, recognize when it may be trying to warn you about something, and don’t ignore certain symptoms.
Keep in mind that some of your body’s signs may be more subtle than others. To help you identify which should raise a red flag, here are six of the most common symptoms to look out for and which type of cancer they may be linked to, according to Anita Johnson, MD, FAS, Medical Director of chest Surgical Oncology at the Cancer Treatment Centers of America.
1. Abdominal bloating/feeling full too quickly, and pelvic pain. If you’re feeling bloated all of the time, seem to feel full quickly (or have difficulty eating), and are experiencing pelvic pressure or abdominal pain, this may indicate ovarian cancer, explains Dr. Johnson. Another sign may be a change in bladder habits, like always having the urge to go to the bathroom. Most of these symptoms can also be caused by other less serious conditions, but if your gut tells you that this is a stark change from how you usually feel, schedule an appointment with your Ob/Gyn immediately.
2. Painful urination, abnormal bleeding after menopause: If you seem to have trouble urinating, or unusual vaginal bleeding or discharge (especially after menopause), this could signify uterine cancer. There are different types of uterine cancer, but the most common type starts in the endometrium, the lining of the uterus—which is why it’s also referred to as endometrial cancer. There’s no test for this disease, so it’s discovered primarily when you experience symptoms, according to the American Cancer Society. Here are some other symptoms to be aware of. Do yourself a favor and get checked out.
3. Depression, unexplained weight loss, and changes in the color of urine and skin. According to Dr. Johnson, depression, if supported by other symptoms such as loss of appetite and weight loss and a “gnawing pain in your abdomen,” often precedes most cases of pancreatic cancer. A tumor or cancer in the pancreas may grow without any symptoms at first, which is why it’s often advanced when first found. Pancreatic cancer is slightly more common in women than in men, and the risk increases with age. Some other early symptoms to be mindful of are dark urine and clay-colored stools, as well as any changes in the color of your skin (particularly if it seems yellowish). If you experience any of the hallmarks of this condition, including any or all of these symptoms, see your physician and discuss, advises Dr. Johnson.
4. Changes in bowel habits and blood in your stool: These signs are often confused with inflammatory bowel disease, but they can actually be early symptoms of colon cancer. If you notice a change in your bowel habits, like diarrhea or constipation that lasts for more than a few days and/or rectal bleeding, dark stools or blood in the stool, this can be a cause for concern. “It can be confusing as to which part of your body the blood may be coming from (e.g. v**ina vs. colon),” acknowledges Dr. Johnson. See your doctor to confirm your symptoms.
5. Skin changes; increase in the size of lymph nodes under the arm. While the warning signs for chest cancer can be different for everyone, the most common ones to look out for are changes in the look or feel of your chest and bosoms, as well as bosom discharge. A lump, hard knot, or ‘thickening’ inside the chest or underarm area can also be indicators. While screening mammography remains the best tool to discover early chest cancers, some other signs that can help identify the cancer early are skin changes. Keep an eye on your skin: Some chest cancers show up as red or thickened skin rather than the expected lump. Look for peeling/flaking of the bosom or redness (pitting) on the skin over your chest. If you notice any other skin changes, like changes in the color, size, shape, or feel of warts, moles, or freckles, you should also see a doctor right away since it may be a melanoma.
6. Hoarseness, shortness of breath, and unexplained shoulder pain. A nagging cough or hoarseness may be a sign of lung cancer, according to Dr. Johnson. Hoarseness can also be a sign of cancer of the voice box (larynx) or thyroid gland. If the cancer is growing, you might have more unusual symptoms like shoulder pain or paralysis of the vocal cords. Warning signs aren’t always there or easy to pick up on, so here are some other symptoms to watch out for.
It’s important to know your own body so you’re more likely to discover changes and react to them faster. If you have symptoms similar to these almost daily for more than two weeks, and they can’t be explained by other more common conditions, document them and take the questions/concerns to your doctor right away. Check out some other early signs of cancer from the American Cancer Society here.
If the cause of your symptoms is cancer, getting it diagnosed and treated early offers you a much better chance of a good prognosis, so stay on top of your health.

See The Weirdest Wedding Cake Ever

Every couple dreams of having a killer wedding. These two set their sights on a killer wedding cake.
Texas newlyweds David and Natalie Sideserf decided to take the phrase “Till death do us part” to a whole new level by crafting a custom cake to give the line its due.
The result was a hyperrealistic cake depicting both of their heads, severed and bleeding on the floor. Their glazed-over, lifeless eyes stare both into the afterlife and at wedding attendees.
“It was perfect for us,” she said.
The guests, however, were a bit harder to win over. “I didn’t tell anybody about it, so it made it really interesting to see people’s reactions,” Natalie told ABC News. “Everybody was shocked and loved it.”
“My grandma did look twice, but in the end she said she appreciated the detail and how realistic it was,” she added.

Pregnant At 18, Best Graduating Student At 25

When Aishat Farooq gained admission into the University of Ilorin at 15, to study Zoology, little did she know that she was not going to be an alumnus of the institution. That was in 2003.

aishat-
Despite the fact that she was a high flyer in her first two years in UNILORIN, the now 25-year-old indigene of Ilorin West-Local Government Area of Kwara State got distracted along the line. She played the campus love game and got a shocking result: she got pregnant.
It was in 2006 and in her third year. She was pregnant for a fellow student whom she had been dating. She was disappointed in herself and thought the whole world was crashing on her.  Yet, she vowed not to terminate the pregnancy.
Although she wanted to continue her studies in the university,  she became disillusioned and dropped out at 18. She sought consolation in trading. But her father, Mr. Shehu Farooq, who believed that his daughter’s academic prowess should not be wasted,  was determined to get her back on the academic track.
Today, Aishat has a different story to tell. On Saturday, she stood tall among her peers at the 5th convocation ceremony of Bells University, Ota, Ogun State,  where she emerged the overall best graduating student with a Cumulative Grade Point Average of 4.93.
The rebel in me won, I hope my story will inspire at least one person to change his or her circumstance. I was pregnant at 18 and by 19 I was already a mother. I had disappointed my father who believed so much in me. He had such big dreams for me and feared the dreams would become unfulfilled,” she declared while giving the valedictory address on behalf of the 208 graduating students of the university.
Aishat studied Business Administration with specialisation in Human Resources Management, and received the Vice-Chancellor’s Prize for the Overall Best Graduating Student with a cash reward of N50,000 and a plaque. She also won the College of Management Sciences Prize and Department of Business Administration Prize for the Best Graduating Student.
Speaking with journalist after she received the awards, Aishat, whose face beamed with smiles, expressed gratitude to her dad for not losing hope in her during her trying time.
Asked if she was involved in any relationship at the Bells, she explained that she was a popular “snob” on campus because the majority of male students were younger than her. Besides, she did not want to get distracted or disappoint her parents and herself again.
The second child in a family of eight children, Aishat brought her six-year-old son, Damilola, to the convocation. It was, however, learnt that the Edo State-born father of the boy has since got married to another woman.
