First, men were banned from wearing baggy pants
low on their hips to show off their underwear.
Now, it’s the ladies’ turn.
The Florida town of Opa-locka is set to approve a
bylaw telling women to pull up their pants. A similar bylaw for men was passed
in 2007.
Allowing your undies to show could result in a
$500 fine or 25 hours of community service.
“I never wanted to try to put somebody’s child in
jail,” Commissioner Timothy Holmes told the Miami Herald. “Even though, in my
opinion, some of them need to go to jail with their pants down like that.”
Commissioner Dorothy Johnson told the paper she
supports the ordinance after witnessing mothers whose children were begging
them to pull up their pants.
