Over 300 Swimmers to Compete for N5.8 Million at Lagos International Swimming Classics

THE Main Organising Committee (MOC) of the Lagos Sports Classics has earmarked over N5.8 million for the four-day Lagos International Swimming Classics.

The swimming classics, which according to the MOC is a continuation “of the series of events” lined up for the Lagos Sports Classics, is expected to commence from November 7 to 10 at the Teslim Balogun Stadium.
Over 300 swimmers are expected to compete for honours at the championships which has been classified into open and schools categories.

According to the Chairman of MOC, Wahid Oshodi, the classics is being organised to expose athletes to international standard and also attract top athletes to the tournament.
“The swimming classics is also one of the series of events line up for the Lagos Sports Classics and we hope to stage another world class event just as we had done during the table tennis and chess tournaments,” Oshodi said.
