Real Madrid are said to be keen on
selling Karim Benzema and replacing him with Liverpool star Luis Suarez in January,
according to talkSPORT.
The Spanish giants were open to offers
for the former Lyon man for much of this summer, though it is believed he
rejected a chance to join Arsenal. Still, Real are hoping to offload him in
January after losing patience with his below-par performances.
The 25-year-old, once regarded as one of
the best strikers in the world, has hit a serious dip in form of late and has
now gone over 20 hours without scoring for club and country.
Suarez, on the other hand, was in sparkling form for Liverpool last season, scoring 30 goals in all competitions for the Reds last season and attracting interest from the likes of Arsenal over the summer.
Real Madrid were also monitoring his situation, as it seemed likely he would look to force a move away from Anfield, but the Uruguayan was not allowed to leave the club by a resilient Brendan Rodgers.
Los Blancos will be hoping to come back in for him again in January now, as they are increasingly frustrated with the displays of Benzema, and could do with an improvement on their attacking options, with Monaco’s Radamel Falcao also said to be one of their targets.
